MESSAGE (March 2026)

 Dear Legion Family,

As we turn the page to March, we begin to see signs that spring is on the horizon. After a long winter, we look forward to warmer days, renewed energy, and continued fellowship here at Post 154. March is an important month in the history and tradition of The American Legion, and it gives us meaningful opportunities to reflect, remember, and recommit ourselves to service.

American Legion Birthday – March 15, 2026

On March 15, we celebrate the birthday of The American Legion, founded in 1919 by veterans returning from World War I. For over a century, The American Legion has stood as a pillar of support for veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and our communities. Post 154 continues that proud legacy right here at home. Let us take pride in our history and look ahead to how we can continue strengthening our mission for future generations.

Congressional Medal of Honor Day – March 25, 2026

March 25 is National Medal of Honor Day, a day set aside to honor the brave men and women who have received our nation’s highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor. These heroes represent extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty above and beyond the call. As Legionnaires, we are reminded of the values we hold dear—honor, courage, patriotism, and service.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day – March 29

On March 29, we observe National Vietnam War Veterans Day. This day is dedicated to recognizing and thanking our Vietnam veterans for their service and sacrifice. Many of these veterans did not receive the welcome home they deserved. At Post 154, we proudly say: Welcome Home. We honor your commitment, your resilience, and your continued contributions to our Post.

Get Involved at Post 154

Spring is a time of renewal—and there is no better time to get involved at the Post. I encourage every member to stop by, reconnect with fellow veterans, and take part in our upcoming activities and events, whether it’s meetings, Queen of Hearts, dinners, and volunteer opportunities.

There is a place for everyone at Post 154.

Be sure to check the calendar for all upcoming events. Your participation keeps our Post strong and vibrant. The more we engage, the more impact we can make in our community and for our fellow veterans.

As we look forward to the arrival of spring, let’s carry that spirit of renewal into our service, our friendships, and our commitment to The American Legion’s mission.

Thank you to each and every one of you for all that you do around the Post—whether it’s volunteering your time, helping with events, serving on committees, maintaining the building, or simply showing up in support. Your dedication makes Post 154 what it is.

For God and Country,

Bill Charon
Commander, American Legion Post 154
