GREETINGS - NEWS FROM THE CLUBROOM (NEWSLETTER VERSION)

As of December 15th, the Bar Fund is $31,767 (this is the date my column for the January newsletter is be ing written) and deposits to this account are made once a week on Mondays, so by the time you read this newsletter there will be three more deposits to the Bar Rebuild Account. We are getting closer to our goal and Ken Stockel and Christa are working on the new bar design for price quotes.

Let us give thanks to the Auxiliary and Mr. & Mrs. Claus for the wonderful children’s Christmas party on December 13th. There were many smiles and pictures of Mr. & Mrs. Claus with the children and their excitement when opening their gifts.

The Auxiliary also spent most of their Saturday preparing a wonderful meal for Active Military members of the Army Reserve on 44th Street in Wyoming for a Sunday brunch here in our hall. They served about 100 people. Please give them thanks for their commitment to supporting our home Post. They did an awesome job.

Also, we want to thank Melissa for her food drive and beer can drive last month. She collected the cans and cashed them in (with help from Denny Farrell) and donated $116 to the Bar Rebuild Fund.

Please make it a point to stop in and meet the new bartender we added to our team, Audra Becker. Audra has worked at the AMVETS Post 23 in Kentwood MI for the last 10 years. She’ll be a great addition, as she is very pleasant and has a great sense of humor.

FOOD COURT

Thursday January 1st, New Years Day- Jan will be preparing hot dogs with all the fixings ($6 for large or $5 for small). You’re asked to bring a dish to share.

Thursday January 8th- Christa’s Chicken Parm with Pasta, Salad, and Dessert $10.00

Thursday January 15th- Butch & Denny’s Hot Beef Sandwich, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Vegetable and Dessert $12.00

Thursday January 22nd- Troy’s Beef Stroganoff $12

Thursday January 29th- Troy’s Chicken, Shrimp, & Sausage Jambalaya $12

Closed Don’t forget--every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month we will have the Queen of Hearts Drawing at 6:00 PM, followed by “Show Me the Money”. Come on and play--it is a lot of fun with fellow members and friends.

Also a reminder if you want to volunteer for a Thursday night dinner please write your name and what meal & price you are providing on the clipboard near the entryway by the second Saturday of each month. Unfilled dates will be offered to Troy.

UPDATED WEBSITE/VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR EVENTS
As Post 154 moves into the summer, there is much activity being planned for you/your friends’ enjoyment. Visit our updated website at www.AmericanLegionWyomingMI.org for a full list of events scheduled through the end of the summer. Also- we are in need of volunteers (Legionnaires, SAL, Auxiliary, and non-member friends) to spread the word for a few upcoming events. 

Remember—growing our Post’s future is at the heart of being a Post member and telling others of our events is a great way to get others to join. If you’re in the club and see an unfamiliar face, be welcoming. There are brochures available for the Legion/SAL/Auxiliary, as well as a new “common” brochure that has been devel-oped for our post which lists our Legion family. Your support of Post 154 is appreciated in all you do.
